Beginners OnStage allows children to discover a new world of performing and creativity whilst developing social skills and making new friends.
Nothing can match the fun of singing, dancing and acting and studies have proven their benefits. Research from the Australia Council for the Arts shows that creative play helps foster confidence, imagination and social and personal development.
Beginners OnStage caters to boys and girls aged 5-7 years and is a wonderful introduction to the magical world of theatre. All students perform on stage each semester in a short play and a selection of song and dance items. Performances take place at Union House Theatre at the University of Melbourne with all costumes provided, a live band and your child in the spotlight.
The programme offers children a broad introduction to the performing arts. Our young performers enjoy a variety of theatrical experiences in a supportive environment with professional actors, singers and dancers who are trained in working with young children.
